You all know my friend Sue, well did you know besides being the organizer of our Golden Retriever meetup group she also does therapy work with Kona! On Mondays and Fridays she visits the patients at the VA hospital in San Diego. Kona is such a love bug and she always has heartwarming stories about her visits! I have always wished I had a therapy dog but it takes training. But there is a place you can go, the Gateway Gardens senior center with your dog if only your dog doesnt jump or spaz out or anything. So I went yesterday with Sue and I took Joey. And he did pretty good!!!
Here is Kona and Joey giving some love.

Looks like fun!
What a cute Santa suit:)
I can't think of a better way to brighten someone's day.
Good work!

I know how you feel...I also wanted to work with Max...but he drools too much! (What a way to be eliminated from the program).
You must have really enjoyed that feeling. It always brings me to near tears when I see these special dogs.
Wishing you a warm, wonderful and Happy Christmas and new year.
Much love

That was so thoughtful of you to do that Joey! I know you made so many people happy in this sometimes joyless season for many - you have a great mom and wonderful sissy Sue and super pal Kona to help you learn the ropes! Looks like you did a righteous job making peoples' day!!! Missing you as ALWAYS!!!!!

You're doing some good work there, Joey!
I love that you can do that! I'm sure your visit meant the world to those people. Kona's Santa suit is adorable too. Nice job Joey :)

I'm so glad you and Joey were able to join us - I knew Joey would do a great job! He is such a loveable boy!
Next year I think your resolution should be to get him certified, and go on more visits with us!!
Love to you all!

There is NOTHING more fulfilling than taking your dog to volunteer. There is no higher calling for a dog than to bring happiness to those who need to smile and feel love.
